Hi!

How is it possible to highlight and comment in the PDF at my account (acrobat.com) from a PC/Mac?

Do I need to subscribe Adobe Export PDF or Adobe Create PDF to make these tools possible in the online reader (acrobat.com)?

It is functional to do highlights and comments from the Ipad and Iphone, but it´s not from the PC or Mac.

Files.acrobat.com is a document repository.  You can open files from there on your iOS/Android device, highlight content and save back to the cloud.  You cannot open a file, per se, within Files.Acrobat.com and modify it there.  If you view a PDF from files.acrobat.com, you're only seeing a preview or picture of the actual file.

Highlighting and commenting works fine with Adobe Reader on Windows.

What is your Reader version?

Is possible at all to edit (highlight and make comments) the PDF´s at the ONLINE VERSION of Adobe Reader at the web-account at Acrobat.com form a Mac or PC??

Adobe Reader have an app for ipad and iphone (and probably adroid phones too).

Here it´s functional to highlight and comment in the PDF-doc. These PDF´s are saved at Acrobat.com in the app Adobe Reader.

However, when using a Mac or PC and log inn to the online-based view of the PDF´s at the account Acrobat.com, then these functions are not functional.

I uploaded a test file to my account at https://files.acrobat.com/

All I can do there is view the document, nothing else.  Even interactive forms cannot be filled.

It seems that the cloud is nothing but an upload/download (sharing) facility, with no editing capabilities whatsoever.

If some Adobe services make it possible to hghlight and comment at the web-account at https://files.acrobat.com,

it would be very nice.

Are you sure that any of the additional adobe services ake it possible to hghlight and comment at the web account?

Sorry if I misunderstood.  Reader Mobile, the version you see on your iOS devices is not available on your PC.  You can, however, download and install Adobe Reader XI and access your files stored on the cloud in a very similar manner to the experience you have on your iOS device.

Hello Sindre,

I have the same problems as you.

I want to be able to work with pdf files (scientific journals) in a way that I can insert notes by keyboard as I am reading the article, also highlighting text would be useful. I notice that this is possible with books i iBooks but I can not make it work for pdf files. Any suggestions?

I have aquired Adobe Export PDF, seemed good for storing pdf files in a cloud an accessing them anywhere, but I have realised that you can not make notes etc in these documents, what you see is just preview of the picture of the file. So you can see it but you can not do anything with it other than changing the file name.

Do you or anyone else have suggestions for good apps that make it possible to access pdf files anywhere, from any device (mostly iPad) edit it (make notes/highlights etc), sync function of course and save it as you go?

Hi Halvor!

If I understand you right, you want to insert notes by keyboard as I am reading the article, also highlighting text would be useful. in the pdf document in "cloud option", thus that it is stored online. Then use a keyboard attached to your Ipad.

As far as I know the the Adobe reader app with ability to edit online is not available on Mac or PC.

Maybe it is available on a PC with windows 8? I do not know.

The way I editing pdf is through the Adobe reader app on my Ipad (Iphone), where it is possible to edit pdf online. Further on, when I am finish editing the document, then I open it and save it from the Adobe reader app into Dropbox where I have all my documents. Then if necessary it is possible to open it on the mac/pc from the ORDINARY Adobe reader program where more functions are available.

If Windows 8 have the Adobe reader app similar to on the Ipad, then I would obtain Windows 8.
