Text annotations feature gets disabled once the document is shared

We're new to Adobe Acrobat online.  We're trying to collaborate with multiple users using Acrobat online.  It looks like once you share the document with someone, the Text comment tool disappears/is disabled.  Is this a feature, bug, or license issue?

Thanks in advance.

Hey Kevin283393754iw4,

Sorry about the delay in response.

This is a designed behavior. When the document is shared, you may add the comments in the comment window by adding a pointer. However, you cannot add text to the PDF directly.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Hi Kevin283393754iw4

Thank you for reaching out.

As mentioned above, the text comment annotation feature is not working for the document when it is shared. Is that correct?

Could you please confirm how you are sharing the document with others? Share the exact steps you use to share the document.

Share the screen recording of the available options when you share the document with others.

Let us know if you need any help.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Hi @Meenakshi Negi ,

Thanks for jumping on this post.  Yes, the text annotation tool disappears once the file is shared with a collaborator.  Below is a gif video of the issue.  You can clearly see that the text annotation is available in the comment icon prior to sharing.  Then once shared and saved, the text annotation is no longer an option and only the comment tag is available.

Please advise.  Thank you

Kevin
