The PDF I am trying to convert to Excel has failed upon two attempts. Does this verify that the file I'm trying to convert is too complex for the software?

Hi darrella,
Is there a particular error message when you try to convert? If you get the generic "Conversion failure" message after both attempts, your assumption is likely correct. But, there are also specific types of the PDF files that ExportPDF doesn't support for conversion, such as those that are password-protected or part of a PDF portfolio. That said, if the spreadsheet is large, it could very well be too complex.
Please clear the browser cache, and then try again. If that doesn't work, you might want to try converting via Adobe Acrobat--since the conversion will take place locally, you won't run into any upload speed or connectivity issues which could affect the conversion. If you don't have Acrobat, you're welcome to try it for free for 30 days. You can download a 30-day trial from http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html.
Best,
Sara

Dear Sara, Thanks for your help! Upon repeated attempts I still was unable to get the cloud version of the PDF Converter to work with my document, so upon your suggestion, I have now downloaded the free trial version of Adobe Acrobat XI Pro to my PC. However, when I open the downloaded software, I can't locate any options for converting PDF files to Excel. Please advise. Thanks!

Hi Darrell,
Yes, it's a bit different in Acrobat. To save as Excel, choose File > Save as Other > Spreadsheet > Microsoft Excel Workbook.
Please let me know how it goes!
Best,

Hi Sara, Thanks for the instructions on how to convert a file using Adobe Acrobat XI Pro. It is still unable to convert my file however. Do you think the problem could be the file size? It is approximately 12,000 KB. Thanks! DA

Hi Darrell,
I don't think that is the issue. While file size can be a factor when you convert online, it shouldn't prevent Acrobat from converting a file (and in the scheme of things, a 12 MB file is pretty small). Is the PDF password protected? I would be willing to try the file here, if it doesn't contain confidential information. Let me know, and I'll send you private message with my contact info.
What happens when you try to convert the file in Acrobat? Do you get an error?
Best,
Sara

Hi Sara, Here's the message I am getting repeatedly:
If you can provide me with your contact info, I will be more than happy to send you the file so that you can troubleshoot the conversion. Thanks for all your help! DA
