Trying to convert pdf to word. A msg box is open on the right side of the screen that says, "retrieving current session status..." It's frozen. What can I do? Thanks.

Hi Dewey,
Are you trying to convert via Adobe Reader? If so, are you able to close and restart Reader (you may need to force quit, or use Task Manager to quit Reader if it's truly frozen)? After restarting, choose Help > Check for Updates to make sure that you have the most current version.
And, if updating Reader doesn't help (or you already have the most current version), please try converting that same file using the ExportPDF web interface at https://cloud.acrobat.com.

Hi Sara,
Thank you very much for responding quickly.
I am using Reader and I used force quit, then opened it again, but the same message box appears as soon as I click on Tools. This has been consistent behavior for days whenever I open a file then select Tools.
I’m using version 10.1.13.
The link you sent did work with quite a few formatting errors. That will help, but do you think I can do something to enable the desktop’s export function?

Hi Dewey,
The conversion you get via ExportPDF is the same that you will get via Reader (you're accessing the same service either way). The quality of the conversion depends on the quality of the PDF--not the method of conversion.
With Reader behaving as it is, though, I suggest that you remove and reinstall it.
