Typing in a converted document

I converted an online document from PDF to Word.  Now that I want to type on the document I can't.  What am I doing wrong?

Did you Converted through 'Acrobat' software or 'Acrobat.com' Online Service?

What Exactly happens when you try to type in the document? Do you get an error message?
Does the Source PDF Contains Editable text or Scanned Image of Text?
