Which Acrobat do I need for Bates numbering?

You would need Acrobat for that. See www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.com for pricing information. You can purchase Acrobat either a one-time purchase or as a subscription. When you purchase as a subscription, you also have access to Acrobat.com online services.
