Hi,

I have a subscription to DC and recently the updates have been failing with error 1646 "uninstallation of the update package is not supported".  Research said to uninstall DC.  When i try that i get "uninstallation of the patch package is not supported".  What do i do next?

Hi Ziggy,

I believe you are referring to the free application Adobe Reader DC? Looking at your account information there isn't seems to be any subscription registered.

You may run the cleaner tool to remove any old Acrobat application (if any) or its traces.

Windows- Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

Mac- Download Adobe Reader and Acrobat Cleaner Tool - Adobe Labs

And re-download it through-  Adobe Acrobat Reader DC Install for all versions

Let us know if it still doesn't

Hi Akanchha,

Yes I have a subscription which I pay $15 per month for charged automatically to my credit card. Please review your records to ensure that I have the proper designation. I hope this is not what's causing the problem. Will your solution work with or without the subscription?

Regards,

Adrian

Ran this tool and it worked.  Uninstalled DC and reinstalled.  Everything seems fine.  Thanks Akanchha
