As Adobe Reader is free application, have you tried updating it to the latest Adobe Reader DC?

If not, then you may update your Adobe Reader XI to the Adobe Reader DC which is compatible for the latest Windows OS.

Launch Reader> Help> Check for update.

Let us know if this doesn't work.
