Only I Sign - How to add just your signature to a document
If you need to place just your signature on a document, and no one else needs to sign it, Only I Sign is the feature you are looking for.
Here is a quick video showing the process.
You can find the Only I Sign feature on the Home tab, in the lower left Additional Features section.
The Only I Sign feature is configured the same as a normal Send event, with a slight twist.
The To: field is where you will place the email addresses that need to get a copy of the document once you have signed it. They will have no other obligation on the transaction, they just get a copy of the signed document.
The Document Name is a required field that should contain a short name for the document. This value is populated into the Subject line of the notification email.
The Message field is freely editable, and can contain a massive amount of content. This will populate on the email to the right of the document image. If you have any instruction for the receiver or clarification about the document, this is a good place to enter that content.
The Language option will be available if you are on a Global level EchoSign account and will define the language that is used on the email and signing templates for the Signer. If you do not have the option to change the language, English will be used.
Upload – You have all of the normal options to upload that your EchoSign account is configured for.
Preview, position signatures or add form fields – This check box will cause your document to load into the Authoring tool so that you can place your fields specifically. If you do not specifically place your signature field, EchoSign will place it at the bottom left corner of the document.
Sign – Clicking the Sign button will cause EchoSign to upload the document, and prepare it for your signature.
** If you checked Preview, position signatures or add form fields, you will be brought first to the Authoring tool to place your fields. You place the fields in the Authoring tool, and then will click Send.
You cannot actually insert your signature into the field while in the Authoring tool, you are just building the template. Place your fields, click Send, and EchoSign will process the document. After processing, you will be asked to actually sign the document.
