How do I create a Form Field Template?

Community Beginner ,
Apr 27, 2015 Apr 27, 2015

Does this not exist in the new version of Document Cloud? I would like to be able to add form field layers for signing an Invoice where the account information is going to be different each time I use the form - so the standard template will not work.

Thanks!

Hello Ttimmer,

The form field layer is still available under Template section to create them. Here is the reference for help:

That would be wonderful if the button to change versions (as referenced in the tutorial) actually existed on my software... but it does not.

I have attached a screen shot below that shows were the option to change versions should be...

Hello,

Just to confirm, are you not able to view the option to apply Form field layer on the preview page? If that's the issue, then did you create any form field layer first?

Waiting for response!

I would like to know if this question has been answered.  I have the same issue as the other posters.  The option is not available.  As I wrote to the other posters, I chatted with support and was told that when Echosign and Adobe merged this feature went away.  Thank you.

As far as I know, there is no resolution. I am hoping to see this addressed (along with a back button in the preview screen) in a future update of the software.

First of all, it's still possible to add library documents for pro agreement. This discussion centers on creating and use  re-usable form layers.

So instead of having a document plus fields, this feature let;s you create a template of just the fields, which can be stamped on uploaded document.

The help article from earlier, only discusses the second part  on how to stamp these layers on an agreement.

It doesn't explain how to create field layers. Creating form layers is done by going to the dashboard>add Template to library.

In an account that support it, it's here you get the option to create a reusable form layer.

now as far as I'm aware this field layer feature only ever has  been a feature in multi user accounts. (So old echosign team accounts and higher) In the Document cloud that would be Document Cloud Enterprise premium.

I even checked with an old pro account which hasn't been updated to the Document Cloud, and that doesn't this feature either.

if you did indeed used to have reusable form layers as an option, were you using an Echosign pro, or a different type of account?

However I'll check with our Product management to see if perhaps this feature can be made part of the Pro account.

I was using the old echoSign trial version. Yesterday I paid for "Send for Signature" plan and I have the same problem. I can't stamp form fields templates on uploaded documents. Which plan I should get? How much is it? No info on the website. Without this feature it's completely useless for me...

Thanks!

Hi Christinel14661241,

Sorry about the late response!

The Pro Edition DC (!4.99/month) will be an individual account and it will not have form field layer templates option ( if you are looking for that). The feature is available in Business Plan ( Premium accounts P1 and above only).

Let me know if you have more questions!

Has this been added to all versions yet? It seems like a basic feature for any e-sign product. Not everyone uses a vanilla template but we do reuse form fields a lot.

It has not! Individual users do not have the ability to create form field templates unless you pay for the Business Plan.

At this time I have the Standard Edition for 12.99/month.  If I upgrade to the Pro edition of DC for 14.99/month, will this feature work?

This needs to be added to every edition. Adobe will begin losing customers to other products. I use adobe sign for my company financials to be reviewed and not having the form fields template is going to cause me to search for another e-sign product. I am the only one who would use this so it makes to sense to get the business plan.

Rijul (or anyone else) is it possible to create a form field layer within Acrobat Pro DC? I'm not sure my organization has document cloud/Adobe Sign available to me.
