I was lead sales and repair tech for 6 years where I was in charge of a 2 to 3 man crew. I currently have a handyman business and when needed I hire on a person or 2 and delegate what needs to be done. As a captain in Hotels in Palm Beach. This was in my early 20s. I was in charge of a 15 table section with a squad of servers front waiters back waiters food runners and busboys. This was fine dining not olive garden so it entailed a degree of professionalism while delegating my squad so the world's richest people can dine without any concern except how they are getting home which we would figure out for them if need be. The captain is essentially a dining room manager. I attended a military college prep school where I was head waiter in the dining hall 3 meals a day in charge of 11 cadets who were waiters I was promoted to Sgt First Class by the end of 2 years of attendance. Throughout my life I have been in charge of a small intimate group of persons who usually spend a lot of time in close quarters and constant interaction with each other. I learned at a young age not to let the power get to your head. That sounds funny but you give authority over 3 ppl to a certain kind of person and they change and must control their team member's every movement.
