Individual signers are being directed to the wrong person

New Here ,
Mar 28, 2025 Mar 28, 2025

I created a document individually creating each signer's email address and subsequent adding the signing and dating block for each.  The different colors of each block signify that I am keeping the signers individual.  However, some signers are erroneously being directed to another signer when trying to sign the document.

Hi there

Hope you are doing well and thanks fo reaching out.

When adding fields to your agreement, it is important to assign each field to a recipient. The field assignment determines which recipient is allowed to interact with that field, to the exclusion of all others.

Fields marked as "Required" must have some content entered before the recipient can complete their part of the agreement.

To know more about the filed assignment, please check the steps shared in the help page https://adobe.ly/4jc5CTW

Let us know how it goes.

Hello -

I am not new to this procedure and confirm I am adding fields to my
agreement, assigning each field to a recipient with their email address.
Each recipient is defined by different colors so it is apparent that they
are properly separated. I understand that the field assignment determines
which recipient is allowed to interact with that field. My document has 10
signers. Two of the signers are erroneously being directed to other
signers. I believe there is an error in the program.

Hi there

Is this an issue with this specific PDF form or with other forms as well? For testing purpose, please try to create a new form with multiple signers and assign them the signature fileds and check for the issue.

Let us know how it goes.

It seems to be with this specific PDF form. I have created others today
with no issues. I recreated this document and sent it through again and
still, one of the inventors has notified us that he is being directed to a
different inventor to sign.

hi all, I am having the same issue. I work often with Adobe e signing for internal agreements, at least 4 signatories are needed (and 4 times date and 4 times place of signing). i normally am able to assign all these boxes to the different signatories. since friday i have a document with 10 signatories, and also have that one signatory is assigned to the others signatory box. So i cancelled the agreement (thinking that i made an assignment error), and resend it out again, checking it is all correct assigned. the same person has this wrong box assigned again for signing. but this time i am sure that i assigned it correctly to all..

I was advised to save my Agreement form to Microsoft Print to PDF but the problem persists.

There is an issue in the Adobe Sign program that needs to be addressed.  Are we reaching to proper person to resolve the issue?  Please let us know as this a frustrating and time consuming issue.

Hi margaret_8982,

We are sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

Please let us know if the issue still occurs. If yes, please share the screen recording of the steps you use when adding the form fields and sending it for signature. Also, could you ask the recipients to share the screenshot or recording of what happens on their end for a better understanding? As the issue occurs with a particular form, it might be a workflow issue.

If you can share the form you use, we can check it.

Feel free to let us know if you need any help.

Thanks,

Meenakshi

Hello Meenakshi-

Yes, this problem has been persisting for months now. I had a teams
meeting with an Adobe IT who was able to see exactly how I create and send
Adobe Sign documents. He saw no error in my procedures and only suggested
I save my document as Microsoft Print to PDF instead of Adobe PDF.
However, the error still occurs.

Attached is a screenshot of a document I sent today where you can see the
different colors for each inventor which indicates they are being entered
separately.

Also attached is our Combined Declaration Assignment document, which after
adding inventor names, I save as a Microsoft Print to PDF for uploading to
Adobe Sign. A sample of the PDF is also attached for your reference.

Inventors have not yet supplied me with a screen shot of what they see.
They have only informed me that they are being misdirected and ask me to
correct it; however, it is not in my control to correct this.

Please advise.

Thank you,

Hi margaret_8982,

Thank you for sharing the information. Could you please attach the files again, as they are not visible in your last post? Try adding them from the community pages instead of the email.

Also, please ask your investors to share a screenshot or a small video of what appears on their end. It will help us understand what might be the issue.

Thanks,

Meenakshi
