Hello there,

When creating 1 text box, and assigning the participant role to "prefill" or "sender", this works fine. However, if I take that same field, and "create multiple copies" of it, although it says the participant role is "prefill" or "sender" (I have tried both ways), the actual participant role is "anyone", as shown in the next step when sending the document for signature. Here is a screenshot video of the error happening.

Adobe DC participant role error - YouTube <-- Regarding the video, for some reason, screen capture does not capture the properties dialogue box when preparing the form, but you will see the error in the the next step of Adobe Sign.

Please help. I have a form with 8 columns and 50 rows.

Thank you!

Hi Brians,

Sorry for the delay in response.

I have checked the video that you have shared and understand what exactly you are referring to.

You create a PDF form in Acrobat DC and convert it to Adobe Sign form. Then in the text form field properties, you assign the participant role as "Prefill".

In the first case, when you assign the role individually and open the form on Adobe Sign UI, the properties are set to Prefill.

However, if you create multiple copies of the form field and then open it in t

However, if you create multiple copies of the form field and then open it in the Adobe Sign UI, the properties show as Anyone.

To make the form fields available in the Adobe Sign UI, Acrobat creates the text tags for each form field. The text tags for form field to be prefilled is {{text_es_:prefill}}.

Now, when you copy the form field, it adds the suffix number to the text tags for each field.

The number at the end to the text tag refers to the recipient/signer filling that form field. However, in the case of Prefill, it will be only one person.

So, when you open the form in Adobe Sign UI, it takes it as a normal text field and assigns it "Anyone".

The participant role is just to add the text tag to the form field as required. That is the reason, it does not change to "Anyone" when you check the form field properties in Acrobat again.

Please refer to the help document on text tags used in Adobe Sign.

Hope that the information helps.

Meenakshi

HI.  I hope someone can help me.  I have a PDF form.  I now want to use the same form to send to a different customer.  I'm trying to edit the properties of a field previously set to SIGNER.  I also entered an email address.  How can I change the email address so that all fields assigned to SIGNER will update with new email.  It will not let me edit the field.  I am in the FORM PREPARE mode.  I can edit all fields for the exception of that one.
