Saleforce Integration and rich text fields

Is it possible to use a merge mapping to merge a Salesforce rich text field into a document for signing? When I do, I only get the HTML with tags and all. I've found two posts asking the same question, both from 2018, one with no answer, and one with an answer that restates the question and suggests contacting support.

Seems like this should be documented somewhere, as it either supports merging rich text fields into documents or it doesn't.
