For years staff have been able to open a document, choose "Request e-signatures", set up recipients, then drag and drop multiple files into Acrobat to attach and send for signatures. Not sure what happened recently, but you can no longer drag & drop files. It states "copy" when you drag a file to the "drag and drop" area and then opens the file in an extra tab instead of attaching it to the e-sign page. Is there a way to fix this and allow staff to drag and drop instead of needing to click on "Add more files" which only allows you to add files 1 at a time?

Couple of notes:
Tried disabling "New Acrobat" - didn't work.
Tried disabling "Protected Mode" - didn't work.
Running version 25.001.20566.0 of Adobe Acrobat on Windows 11 Pro.

Hi AJCacciola,
Thank you for reaching out, and sorry about the trouble caused.
This was resolved in the previous version. Please ensure that you are using the latest version of the application.
You may try sending the document via the Acrobat web to see if you experience the same behavior. Go to the Acrobat web and sign in using your Adobe credentials. Then go to the E-Sign tab and select Request e-signatures.
If the issue still occurs, please share the following information:
- Screen recording of the workflow.
- Acrobat version number currently in use.
- OS version on the machine
- Check if it happens to everyone on your staff.
Feel free to let us know if you need any help.
Thanks,
Meenakshi

If this was fixed in the latest version, then what's the explanation for the exact same thing happening to me while I'm using what I believe to be the current version?
Acrobat version: 2025.001.20577
OS: Windows 11 24H2 10.0.26100 Build 26100
I'm not attempting this on the web (but I did have to click "browse" to upload my screenshots to this reply because the Drag & Drop is busted here too). I'm using the desktop program with the "old" Acrobat UI/UX (the good one that isn't rife with garbage AI nonsense), and the "old" esign interface because the "new" one is explicitly not feature-complete and I need the features that are missing.
I just want to say, it baffles me how Adobe can so consistently worsen the experience and negatively affect the workflow of using its software while continuing to charge what it does for the "privilege".
All Adobe has to do is leave the UI/UX alone, fix any security exploits that get discovered and make minor optimizations under the hood, and 99% of its userbase would happily just pay for its continued use. Instead, we get all these garbage aesthetic changes that impact workflow, AI slop injected into every facet of the program (which I won't tolerate for long), and fewer options to customise the experience.
I don't want to be here, on these forums, complaining into the void at an employee who's completely powerless to substantively help me. I just want the program I've spent thousands on to do the things I've always been able to do with it, so I can complete the work I have to do efficiently, and get on with my life.

Thank you for the information.
The feature initially did not work on the new UI, which was fixed in one of the previous versions. However, you are using the old version.
Could you please confirm what happens when you switch to the new UI to check if the feature is working?
As we check, it is working fine on our end.
Thanks,
Meenakshi

Good day,
I would like to mention I have the exact same issue on Mac.
I am on the same app version as them, I am using the new UI, and using the old e-sign because the new one does not provide me the required features.
This has been broken for me for about 6 months.

Hi amyersAFI,
Thank you for reaching out.
Please confirm if you can use the drag-and-drop feature when using the new UI for Acrobat Sign. This is only for testing purposes. After checking, you may switch back to the old UI. It will help us further investigate this behavior.
Thanks,
Meenakshi

I tested in both the old and new UI.
However I cannot test in the New Request E-signature since the entire drag and drop field is no longer present on the new one, I have to use the old one.
Thanks,
Alex

Hi amyersAFI,
For testing, could you try adding the file using the drag feature in the new version to check? You do not need to complete the workflow further. Also, could you please share more information on what you mean by "drag and drop field no longer present?"
It would be helpful if you could share the screen recording for a better understanding.
Thanks,
Meenakshi

Good day,
I have attached a screenshot of the New E-sign where it does not have the drag and drop area at all, I cannot use this version as I MUST be able to attach extra documents during the signing process. I cannot combine them before due to our record keeping protocol.
I have also attached what the legacy e-sign looks like. As you can see there is the drag and drop field however it does not work, dragging anything onto that field just opens the dragged document in a new tab. I am forced to click add files.
New e-sign, a terrible upgrade and I cannot use it.
Legacy e-sign, used to work fine but then an Adobe update broke the drag and drop ability.
I am on the new UI for Adobe Acrobat.

Hi amyersAFI,
Thank you for the information and screenshots.
In the new version, try clicking on Prepare document without adding the email address. See if you get the page where you can add files.
Could you please share the screen recording of the steps you use when sending the document for signature in the new version? We will share the details with the team to get this behavior checked.
Thanks,
Meenakshi
