Stop auto-populating in eSign

New Here ,
May 03, 2016 May 03, 2016

When documents are grouped and sent to a signer, some text data is being re-populated below on other documents. These text fields aren't for the same data. As the signer scrolls through, some text fields have been auto-populated with data from the forms above. Is there a way to configure or turn off the auto-populate feature?

Thanks.

If the forms are all part of a single PDF and the fields all have the same name, then the answer is not without changing the field names on different pages. This would require Acrobat. How are the documents being grouped? How are the form fields created?

FIrst, thank you for responding.

The docs are separate pdfs loaded as templates and I add the fields in esign. Then the pdfs are sent via a single email with multiple pdf attachments. The text field from one pdf is loading in a pdf 2 or 3 docs down in the chain.

HI Jennifer -

I am experiencing the same problem.  I'm sending 4 different PDFs in one email, and data entered into one form populates into another, and I don't know why!  Have you figured out the solution?

I wonder if Adobe Sign is acting as if the separate attachments are all part of the same PDF. If you could change the field names for the different PDFs, you could see if it would prevent the behavior you are seeing.

Thanks, Mike. Do you know how to rename the fields? I've looked at the edit menus...maybe it's simpler than that.

I do that in Acrobat. Go to the form editing area and make sure you are editing the form. Double-click on the form, the Form Field properties box should open up to the General Settings area. The first entry is the Field Name.
