Hi,
We are updating our widgets to reflect a new 2017 legal document. I was hoping there was a way to just add the new document within the current widget I have created rather than having to re-create it 20+ times. Is there any way to do this?
Thanks

Hi danielj41664833,
Please be informed Adobe Sign is not a document editing tool, any changes in the document needs to made outside the Adobe Sign environment. It won't be possible to edit or just replace the document with a new one, you can only edit the fields on the document in the Adobe Sign Environment.
I would recommend you to upload the new document and then create a widget with it
Regards,
Aadesh

danielj41664833 - We had the same issue at my company (except with a MegaSign document) and luckily we were able to save the form fields from the old version as a template, then apply the template to the new document. It wasn't as simple as swapping out the "background document" would have been, but it at least saved the time it would have taken to recreate all of the fields manually. Not sure if this option is available with the Widget or not though. Good luck.

Where did you find this? If I can just get all of my fields back like they were for the rest of the documents and just add this sheet to the end that will work fine.

Apologies, I may have misremembered. I thought we were able to save the form fields directly from the old version, however we might have had to recreate it once initially (using the Add Template to Library link on the Dashboard page) only making sure to check the "Create as reusable form field layer" option in the first screen of options. For subsequent updates however, we were able to upload the new document then just apply the form field template. (The option to apply a previously saved form field template can be found on the Preview & Add Signature Fields screen under the Alignment drop-down near the top left corner.)
I haven't tried using form field layers with the widget feature yet myself, so hopefully this option is available. (If not, seems like an obvious feature Adobe Sign should consider adding, along with the ability to just swap out the underlying PDF or other document, too!) Best wishes.
