Hello,
I'm a Senior Media Teacher in Canada, and I've been using Adobe AR with my students as a new and exciting way to showcase our artwork using emerging technologies. Overall, AR has been a great success in getting students to appreciate the technology and how they can use AR as a new way of looking at digital art.
However, what we're noticing is that when we first download the Adobe AR mobile app and go through the demo, some of our students are stuck on 'Uploading Documents'. It would appear there is no reason for this, as I have yet to find any correlating pattern for why it happens. Each student has a different (Newer or older) iPhone device and unique email that has access to Adobe programs. Deleting the app and reinstalling doesn't help. I thought, "Maybe it's the school internet?", suggested students go home with their devices and try installing AR there in hopes that it uploads properly(?). Unfortunately, this didn't help either. They get stuck in an endless loop of "Uploading Documents" and they cannot use the app in any way, shape, or form. Students have stated they've left their phone running on the app for upward of 5 hours, still stuck in this loop. When introducing AR to students, this bug has become so inconsistent that I've invested my own money in a classroom iPhone where if students can't access it on their own iPhone, they can still use the program through a communal classroom iPhone that doesn't have this issue.
Is this a known bug, or are we doing something incorrectly here? Is there a workaround?
Thank you, and I'm looking forward to hearing back!
