I'm looking to start using Aero, but first I'm trying to find an Adroid app so that I can test my work.
I found the following app (on my desktop browser):
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.adobe.aero.android&hl=en_GB&gl=US&pli=1
But when I search on my phone, on the Play app, there are no search results when looking for it?

hi @mttplbkp what Android device do you have? Please see supported models here: https://helpx.adobe.com/aero/system-requirements.html#:~:text=Android%2010%20or%20above. Thanks

Thanks, it looks like mine isn't supported unfortunately... which is surprsing as my phone is only a couple years old.
Can I just use any AR app instead?

I'm trying to learn Aero to create AR experiences, but the app isn't compatible with my Android device.
Any tutorials I find online say for me to first use the mobile app to scan the environment.
How do I do that without the mobile app? Is it just a case of simply not being able to use Aero at all?

Thanks, so if my mobile isn't compatible then that means I can't use Aero at all? I heard something about being able to use a laptop camera instead, but I can't find any info about it online

Hi @mttplbkp
If you scroll to the top of the link Mark posted, you'll see "Aero is now available on desktop":
https://helpx.adobe.com/aero/system-requirements.html
The link takes you here:
https://helpx.adobe.com/aero/system-requirements-macos-windows.html
It is in beta on the desktop. Scroll down the page for some tutorials and installation tips.
Download instructions are here:
https://helpx.adobe.com/aero/get-started.html
And yes to your other question — you do need to meet the system requirements.

Thanks but I can run the desktop app just fine... the problem is that I have no way to scan the environment because the mobile app doesn't work. Every tutorial I read says to 'start up the mobile app' and scan the environment, even when using Aero on the desktop.
Is it possible to scan the environment with a laptop camera?

Were you able to solve it? I have a galaxy S21 FE and it is not compatible, apparently not in Ecuador (very weird).
