Add an option to select all deleted files for permanent deletion

I have a lot of assets in the /Deleted folder online which I want to permanently delete, but there is no checkbox to select all or a button to permanently delete the contents, so the process involves selecting each item individually, which is a nuisance. Services like Dropbox allow selecting files as a batch.

A broader point is that when I delete or remove a file from CC on the desktop I expect it to be actually deleted from CC online assets. It’s not Adobe’s job to second-guess my action and keep the file in limbo just in case. I can manage my own files and backups, I don't need Adobe as my nanny. However, I understand that some people expect this safety net, so perhaps another suggestion would be to have an option in the preferences which lets me set whether to permanently delete files from the online assets when they are deleted on the desktop.

The same as Philip King said:
- Why no 'select all option'?! It costed me a ridiculous amount of time to empty it... (and the option is was there before, if I remember well)
- Why is it that you have to empty the bin online? Feels unnecessary. And confusing when your cloud is 'full', when you have nothing in the folder on your disk.
- The link from CC-app to online asstes doesn't work, so I have to look for it. Costs time again.

Not only I can't delete all of the files in one action, I can't even sort by size to remove the biggest files first!

Absolutely. The fact that there's no delete all button is ridiculous. And this online storage is so hard to find.

Problem: ~10k deleted files need to delete. Can only do in batches.
10 files takes around 10s/batch,
50 files takes around 30s,
100 files takes around 1m,
200 files takes around 1-2m,
300 files takes around 3-6m,
600 files takes around 5-15m (the confirmation box is semi-responsive - iow it takes the button press but doesn't go away, and continues to let you click it while it hangs for a minute or 2 and sometimes will finally let go and do the work)
1300 files took 30m and FAILED - ran out of browser memory, and crashed without doing the deed.

most reliable batch size is around 200. in order to delete 10,000 files in batches of 200.... that's 50 batches at 1-2m per batch. which I must have gotten the time wrong because it's been way more than 2 hours and Ive STILL got over 1000 files to go.

sorry for the rant below - just frustrated beyond belief.

EDIT: VENT SESSION BELOW...
Wow this has been up since Dec 2019, and nothing from Adobe? I am absolutely FURIOUS at the moment. I had 9900 files in my deleted folder. I HAVE ALREADY SPENT 5 HOURS PERMANENTLY DELETING FILES!!! WHY? I can only reasonably delete 100-200 or so. I can't even SEE how many files are in deleted.

!!!WARNING!!! to anyone using Character animator... it generates 100s of files - and is a massive undertaking to remove the garbage.

What's worse is that I have had the occasional files turn up deleted erroneously by adobe. So I MUST empty the deleted files in order to know if the files were deleted by me, or mysteriously by adobe.

I will have lost an entire day's productivity over an abominable architectural design decision.

JUST GIVE US CONSOLE ACCESS! OR A SCRIPT! omg - did I mention how fuming I am right now.

Sadly - I cannot use CC files for actual work. What a pile of steaming hot crap.

What's even scarier is the idea that adobe is integrating the apps to save to the cloud instead of the desktop. Sheesh, figure out the cloud stuff first!

oh yeah I reached out to support and was told "this is how it works by design" - I asked for an actual call back from a dev/eng which they oblidged would be happening within 2 hours... it's been 36 hrs... nope no call.

NOTE:
I don't know how I ended up with 1000s of files to by honest... I think it's from using Character Animator.
After FINALLY removing all 10,000 deleted files (and losing a tremendous amount of hair!)...

I will be watching to see what happen as I continue working. If this is the case, then I cannot store Character Animator projects on CC.

The fact that deleted files cannot be emptied easily. The fact that on occasion the CC folder will randomly have files go missing - just leaves me feeling pretty dubious about even using it at all.

I'm going to be keeping bi- or even tri-daily incremental backups of the CC folder and will only be using it for shared projects.

Extremely disappointed in the functionality and utility... and emptying of the deleted files just stole HOURS of my productivity and that just stinks. (and support's answer was to try and explain how it works - instead of listen to the ACTUAL problem and solve it - like I've not been using adobe products since literally inception... decades! grrrr... venting over.

Deletion of the deleted folder is poorly architected! We need to have a sort by "deleted date". We NEED to have a way to quickly select 100s or 1000s of files and remove them. REALLY we should have access to the deleted folder on the desktop so we don't have to deal with the horrible web performance. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE fix this.

Please, add a "delete all" button. Supposed to get bacj to work and I'm still stuck there for more than 30 minutes selecting one by one to clear some storage on my CC library. Just ridiculous. Come one!

It would be just as much a waste to describe my personal scenario as it would be to try and go through and delete these files given that everyone here is describing a similar situation. Adobe, whats the deal here. Is this just a way to try and force people to pay for more cloud storage?

That's extremely necessary, and a hassle to have to create an account when we could just have it inside Adobe using our own account login. OMG!

It‘s just unacceptable to click every single file to delete it again just to be able to use all the cloud space we are paying for.

It’s infuriating that there apparently at one point was a select all button that got removed — so you’d have to assume that it is a intentional descision by adobe to make the process as tedious as possible to make people upgrade their cloud space.

When any computer user puts things in their bin or trash on their computer, they aren't then asked to individually mark each of those items for permanent deletion again before they are deleted. Likewise, Adobe should allow users to empty their Deleted folder as a whole rather than having to select each of those items that have already been sent there for deletion.

While the delete feature seems to have approved speed wise it would be nice if we didn't have to manually delete files. Ideally it would be nice to be able to set a duration, maybe increments like 30/60/90 days. I feel like this is a bit of a marketing thing where you forget to delete files manually and then run out of storage space thus thinking you need to purchase more.

OMG please someone from Adobe listen to us! We need to be able to delete all our deleted files at once.

It takes hours to do this manually because you can only delete around 100 at a time without it crashing.

Please give us a delete all button. Or the option to ALWAYS permanently delete files that we delete ourselves.

It is 2022 for gods sake.

It is now 2023 and I believe the goal is to sell more storage and not to help us. At least let us adjust our settings for storage to delete permanently after a set amount of time. My little notification of FULL storage was getting on my nerves, so I transferred out my files to my permanent storage. But still full. So I had to dig and found that in my deleted files there were large MOVIES from 2 years ago. Why is this happening? Only to sell me storage. When I took an hour out of my day to delete all files because AGAIN you can't select all. No, you have to click each one. Well, after I did that for a LONG time - I went from 100GB of files to 8.
