New Express sign-in prompts when iframed are leading us to completely move away from using this tool

As an Adobe Creative campus, we'd started encouraging teachers to move to Express presentations  (vs MS PPT) as a quick and relatively simple part step away from just relying on PPT.  Central updates being pushed out, better UI/UX and sizing in our LMS using iframe share (than PPT file uploads) being the main positives.

Express presentations (bundled into an Express project and shared with the whole program team) were then each iframed into our LMS courses using the iframe/share function in Express (we use Canvas).

This was all working well until late December 2024 when everyone viewing the Express iframed content started being prompted to sign in to Express to fully view the relevent content. UI/UX was severly impacted in Chrome and Edge desktop browsers tested to date (even when the "continue as guest" option was chosen). Edge being the worst to date with the persistent white banner on the RHS you cannot get rid of without signing in and that impacts a student just trying to view this course content. Few pics attached.

We are now moving to not recommending Express to any staff for any student facing content / development if this isn't resolved, and in general if this is the way Adobe deals with product change that impacts it's users. I noted this as a "bug", but I'm guessing it can only have been a deliberate decision. Are other people experiencing this?

Agreed, I was really suprised when this "feature" dropped unannounced!

Students have enough sign-ins and buttons to press as it is. At least with embedded PPT you have control.

While I'm here, the Express file navigation needs sorting, I burn many minutes watching "getting things ready" and "abracadabra" moving a file from the default upload spot.

Hi @Andrew N3W p@wl,

Could you please try again and let us know if you're still encountering this issue?

Thanks @Tarun Saini , 2 of the 3 issues (lower banner relating to editing the Epress pres, and edge browser RH banner not going away) seem to be resolved now.

The issue with students, on loading each Express presentation, still being prompted to sign in or continue as guest to just view each and every piece of iframed Express content in our LMS (which they've already signed into) remains.

It's just an unnecessary hurdle for students. Is this sign-in prompt landing page also going to be looked at for removal thanks?

Thanks for your response

@Andrew N3W

,

Could you please let us know if students were already signed in when they saw the modal to sign in/ continue as guests and if this prompt occurs only when they're directly accessing the editor or if it occurs on Home too?

Regards,

Tarun

Thanks @Tarun Saini I think the point is being missed here. It's our view that students shouldn't have to sign in (or select anything like your "proceed as a guest") to simply view iframed express content. Sign in should be resreved for when someone is required to create or modify in a piece of software.
