Pasting text does not maintain source formatting * Recent change *

Contributor ,

I normally copy text from other Express webpages or word documents.

When pasting into Express it will normally retain the paragraph formatting which means I can add elements within the paragraph (images, headings, videos).

Recently this has stopped. Which means i need to paste each paragraph seperatly if I want to be able to add elements within the text.

Can you please revert this change as it adds significant amount of time.

Hi @Northwest29778056nk7l,

Welcome to our Adobe Express community!

Thanks for flagging this. That definitely is inconvenient, especially when working with longer text blocks. I tried and was able to reproduce the same, and will share it further with the team and provide updates to you.

Can you try Ctrl+Shift+V once and share your observations? For me,it maintained the paragraphs, but the alignment defaulted to the left when pasting from the Express webpage into a Word document.

Appreciate you taking the time to report this. Feedback like yours helps us improve the editing experience in Express.

Best!

thanks @Amitej S  pasting with ctrl+shift+v didnt maintain the paragraphs unfortuantly.

This was definetly a recent change so hopefully its easy to trace the change that caused this and roll it back.

  • Your OS and browser information

  • Also, a screen recording could be more helpful.

  • copy from Microsoft Word document (also same issue when copy from other Express web pages)
  • same behaviour on edge or chrome
  • it doesnt maintain the paragraphs, it pastes it as a large single sentance.
  • if you add in manual paragraphs it still thinks its one big long sentance.
  • you have to paste paragraph by paragraph
