I cannot edit slides/cells in video

I am trying to create a video, but whenever I open a new project, I am not given the ability to edit the slides that are there.  I do not get the pop-up window that allows me to add images, text, etc.

Which workflow you have followed? If you revert with a short recording, it will be great because we will have a clear picture of the issue. Awaiting a response from you.
