I'm importing an image into Adobe Express for a magazine cover. I want the image to be on the right side of the page and have the regeneration tool fill the left side. I can't get it to work. It'l only regenerate on both sides. I'm sure this can done but I've tried everything I've been told to do. I'm using the app on an iPad Pro with 18.6
Hi @Tony Di Mac
Yes, you are right, the canvas will need to be larger. It might be somewhat easier to do this on another page. using the "Duplicate & Resize" button.
Here's a step-by-step, assuming your image is 6" wide and you want to to fit 8.5" but expanded exlcusively on the left to fill the 2.5" gap.

Hi @Tony Di Giacomo,
Thanks for reaching out! We understand the importance of precise image placement for a magazine cover. To fill just one side, try leaving blank space on the left when positioning your image and then apply Generative Fill – it should only affect the empty area.
You can find step-by-step guidance here: https://adobe.ly/4glILVK
Please also let us know your file format and resolution. This will help us reproduce the issue and share accurate feedback with our product team.

Yeah I tried placing the image in on the canvas. I used an 8.5 x 11 canvas and imported the image and placed it on the right side of the canvas. The resize tool is what I used to fill but it doesn't do anything. Here's a video screenshot of what I'm trying to do
The link you sent doesn't seem to apply. All that procedure does is change the background. I like the background I have. I just want to expand it to the left, leaving her on the right side of the frame.

Hi @Tony Di Mac
Generative Expand in Express is currently symmetric, as you have observed. But you can crop the image after expand to leave out the side you are not intersted in. Let me know if you need help/clarification on that.
Thanks
