Pan and Zoom missing?

Community Beginner ,
Nov 14, 2023 Nov 14, 2023

Hi there.

I'm new to Express and trying to follow lots of online help and tutorials. I've seen a few from 2022 which shows the image animation panel vertically on the right of the screen. In this you can pan an image from right to left. I'd like to do this but, firstly, the panel isn't on the right on my browser (Chrome) and, secondly, the only animations I have available seem to be In, Looping and Out.

Has the Zoom and Pan options been dropped or am I not looking in the correct place?

Many thanks.

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. I would like to inform you that you can use these features here: https://adobe.ly/3w9R4Rh this is the URL of the new version of the Adobe Express.

To add animate in text, photos and videos you can check this article- https://adobe.ly/49gFhiw

Also, check this link for more Adobe Express keyboard shortcuts- https://adobe.ly/480ujfW;

Let us know if that helps.

Hi Tarun,

I am having the same issue and AM on the latest version of Express. There is no right-side panel for me either, and am trying to learn how to pan and zoom. I also have only the left sidebar with the same options Chris described. Even tried using your link and still have the same issue (and I am a Premium user).

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Megan

Hi @Megan23751221ck7g

While not called Pan and Zoom, many animation presets (e.g. Drift, Slide, and Grow) are similar. You will see these when you click In/Out.

The new version also allows you to fine-tune many aspects for these presets.

Hope this helps,

Am I missing something? If I use slide animation to create a pan effect it fades on the front or back based on the direction. I just want to pan with no fade. It looks like in oder versions there was a pan button. Help.

Hi @Tysen157F

You are right; Slide without fade does not exist yet.

I am new to express and have a paid subscription. All the tutorials I saw showed pan as a feature, also text features like typewriter and others seem to be gone. Is there an app form of the program with this stuff, or did lots of features get lost in the update? I am worried I chose the wrong program.
Best.

LATEST

Hi @Tysen157F

The new version of Express that launched in August 2023 was reimplemented from scratch. While most features from the previous version were part of that initial release, others were re-introduced gradually, and that process continues. I expect to see Typewriter animation soon since it was heavily requested.

Voting on the UserVoice forum I linked to above helps the team prioritize.

Hope this helps,

Abhi G
