Size and location of images on Adobe Express

Hoping for a response from someone who works at Adobe:

Can someone at Adobe explain how Express users can see the exact size of the image (in inches, pixels, etc.) and where exactly on the page it sits?  There should be a feature by which we can accurately place images and know exactly how big it is without eyeballing it.  Sometimes we need to have an image or logo be the same size across products of different sizes. It is essential to know how big an object really is, and where on the page it is located.

Can you please add a way for us to see the real scale (inches, pixels, cm, etc.) of images, and the real location on the page?  Please see Canva for an example of this user experience.  It seems to be lacking from Adobe Express, which makes this a much less useful platform for design. If this is an option, please let me know where to find this function.

Thank you for any information in response to this question.

Hi @AZDPDX

You can check the pixel dimensions of your design from the resize command when working in a design and premium members can resize existing designs. We somewhat recently added features for printing but this was targeted for use with a printer provider, we use Zazzle. If you are creating content for printing you would want to ensure your pixel dimensions were appropriate for whatever size you intend to print the design at (typically between 150-300 dpi). If you wanted to create a design for printing at 8.5 x 11 inches for example, you would want to multiply the inches by the intended print resolution. So for 300 dpi, 8.5 x 300 (2550) and 11 x 300 (3300), so a 2550 x 3300 pixel image. If you are preparing content for the web it is usually 72ppi and just ensure you are viewing the design at 100% zoom level to get a sense of size.

I know we have a popular feature request to add guides and rules which would also really help in this area. https://adobe.ly/4b20WwP

Please add your vote for this idea if you think it would help.

Hopefully that is helpful, please let me know if you still have questions,
Dave

I've allways told users that every 300ppi at 72 ppi will print 1" at 300 dpi.   Printing something commercially?  Tripple the size of your final graphic.  FOR EXAMPLE:   Your square final graphic will be printed in some book, or a zazzle tee shirt at 500ppi  (PPI is for screens, DPI is for printers) for the final print size, then your working image with AE should be 1500ppi square.   Commercial printers really like 300ppi.  Trippling the size of the final needed image will allow that to happen, and the printing softwarre will think it's a 300ppi image, when it is not.

Thanks for trying to answer.  I am not asking about the size of the design, but about an image placed within the design.  If I am printing flyers, I want our logo to be the same size across designs, and I can't find an easy way to tell how big the logo or any image is within the design.  Does that make sense what I'm asking?

In Canva, you can see the actual size and on-page position of any image.  In Microsoft products, you can see the Size & Position on any image.  These would be useful features on Adobe express.  Guide-lines would be helpful but not as precise as what we need.

Thanks for trying to answer!

Yes I understand now.   I just spent 10 minutes trying to find out the size of an image with right mouse clicking sanf check all image options:   I would have to say as of now that it cannot be done.

David mentions stuff about size- but that applies to the over-all design size.

In dealing with logos on my website when I use to sell image sets I made I had mutliple size logos for different things (product pages vs an information page on the website), and different themes of logos.  You would have one logo for a business card, and a slightly different one for a social media post.

I've tried uploading my own images, and still could not find out the size of an image.  I seem to recall you could do it, but right now finding out the size of an image is not possible.

I do think it's a program bug.

Yes, it's unfortunate! It must be possible to include this functionality, since other programs have this feature.  I hope Adobe figures it out soon, because it makes Adobe Express a lot less useful than other programs.

Hey @AZDPDX, Thanks for sharing the information on what you're looking for. As of now, this feature is not available in Adobe Express; and as suggested above you can post a feature request for the same to our product team directly here: https://adobe.ly/3EQSnci

Feel free to reach out for any Adobe Express issues or workflows; we are here to help.

Best!
