My uploaded fonts are not displaying at the selected weights. I have uploaded brand fonts to my Brand styles. They appear correctly in the brand page edit/add font screen (see "manage fonts" image, the second image), however, once I get into a project, the fonts are never the correct font weight (see "Committee for Children," first image) . It seems that one font weight is used for nearly all the font weights. In this example it's Light being used for Light, Regular, and Bold and Regular Italic is being used for Regular Italic and Bold Italic.
I have tried deleting the brand and reinstalling the fonts but the issue persists.
There is no consistent font, sometimes one font and not the other will show up correctly. I cannot create templates when none of my fonts display correctly. I cannot hand off projects or templates for other people to use if the fonts are acting up in this way.
I see there is a similar issue of some sort on iOS, I'm working on a Mac OS in Chrome, on a system where the fonts are installed, so it seems like the issue is different.
Anyone else having this issue or have a solution?
I am likely going to convince my boss to switch to Canva, as I have more text qualms with Express (alignment of text box changing when changing/replacing text, line height variable based on ascenders and descenders), not to mention the fact that you can't upload and change the color of an svg like you can in Canva.

Sorry for your frustration with this. I haven't heard of this issue before but would like to try to recreate it and share it with our developers.
Some of the things I wondered about in relation to the issue are:
I know our developers are working to make all of Adobe fonts available within brands so uploading files won't be required.
Sorry for the delay in replying, please follow up when you get the chance,
Thanks,
Dave

Hi Dave,
I wasn't able to find anyone with this issue across any boards.
We purchased Sharp Slab from the foundry, Sharp Type. We purchased Molde from FontSpring, the foundry is Letritas. These are fonts we use outside of Express, across other Adobe products, our website, etc. without any issues.
I haven't uploaded any more fonts than the two typefaces, I know the issue hasn't happened with fonts that exist within Express, but not sure if I uploaded a different font. I can try. I know anyother designer within our Enterprise account is having another issue with the fonts, where it said the fonts were missing and then the upload was a "font mis-match" even though the fonts have not changed or updated in that time. This issue did resolve.
I worked with someone in our org IT dept. and we managed to get the fonts to show up correctly temporarily, when the fonts were uploaded through a project instead of through the "brand," however, since I'm creating templates for other people (who have access to upload the fonts) I need to use the brands for our colors and logos as well, since Express doesn't include colors or font styles in libraries. And even though they worked for a moment, they would end up breaking again.
I could possibly get approval to share the fonts directly, but I'll need to get sign off. Is there somewhere I could send them? They are not open source fonts so I don't feel comfortable uploading them here.

The fonts are .otf files.

Thank you for the additional details. I'll see if I can find another .otf font to test with which has several different weights in the family and share my results.

Hi Claire,
I downloaded Alegreya SC from here for testing https://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/list/classification/serif
also testing on Mac in Chrome
The preview and use of the font at different weights seemed to work okay for me. I'm wondering if the issue is related to this specific font file. Did you also install the font at the OS level and test it in other applications?
Here are some screenshots of what I was seeing from my testing

I was also wondering if the fonts actually appear at the wrong weights too when used in Adobe Express or if the issue was limited to the font previews
