This is ridiculous. I paid for the full version to be able to have translations. The translations simply don't work; say "sorry, all good things have a limit, you can only translate 99 pages." I'm translating 40 pages! Also, these are history textbooks so it just won't translate things that it says are inappropriate content, but, of course, won't tell me what the inappropriate content is!! Waste of money. I want my money back. Don't buy this crap.
Hi @smart_Jubilee8859, Welcome to our Adobe Express community!
We're sorry to hear about your experience. As of now, Adobe Express currently has a limit of 99 pages per file, so if you're trying to translate multiple languages within the same file, it may hit that cap even if your content is under 40 pages.
A possible workaround is to duplicate the file and translate each version separately into one language; this keeps it within the page limit.

While it is not ideal, we're working to improve it. In the meantime, we recommend upvoting this feature request on UserVoice here: https://adobe.ly/4obIHLB. This helps our product team prioritize improvements like this.
Thanks for your patience, and we're here if you need further help!

Hello. The reason seems to be that the translation tool *adds* the translated pages to the original pages, so the document doubles in page number. This still doesn't fully explain why your 40 pages don't stay below the 99 limit, so you might have to try to split them up further.
I just tried 45 pages and ended up with 84 translated pages, 45 original and 39 translated ones. Still quite buggy it seems.

Hi @smart_Jubilee8859
Sorry to hear about your frustration with the product. If you would be willing to share your project with me privately? I can try recreating the issue and possibly offer recommendations and pass feedback on to our developers.
Thanks,
Dave

1. For reproducing how the Translation function doubles page numbers by keeping the original and adding the translation at the end: use any document.
You can also use this one: https://helpx.adobe.com/pdf/aem-forms/6-2/designer-samples.pdf
Incidentally this one also features an unspecified error on page 24 (20 by content numbering).
2. The reason why my documents end up translating a few dozen pages less than the original: Adobe not only decides which word we are allowed to read, but it also fails to point to the "offensive" words in question. We are left to guess.
We even only get a single message for one missing page out of multiple. Last but not least the whole page isn't translated then instead of just leaving out the supposedly offensive words. Meanwhile DeepL just translates everything, as expected.

Hi @Timur Born,
Thank you for providing detailed information and examples. We understand how frustrating it is when the Translation function duplicates pages or omits content without clear guidance.
We’ve shared your case with our engineering team for investigation. We may reach out if additional details are needed, and in the meantime, can you share the project link with me via DM so I can forward it to our engineering team along with the other information you have provided?

I have the same issue. I have an 85 page file to translate and it says the limit is 99 pages which, of course, is more than my file. I'm on a free 7-day trial which expires in 3 days. Needless to say, if it isn't going to translate my 85 page file, I'm glad I didn't pay for it. And, additionally, I need other languages, which aren't offered, and larger files translated, so this apparently won't work for me. I am thankful I came across this post to realize the limitations before purchasing.

Hi @mesha7, thanks for posting here. Could you please confirm whether you're translating 85 pages in one language or multiple languages?
The 99-page limit would include pages if other languages are also selected for translation.
You can try one language translation at a time if you need multiple languages translated pages.
Let us know if this helps!

I read your reply to @smart_Jubilee8859 . Unfortunately, the app didn't get "improved" before I tried it. I started out with 6 languages to translate. When that didn't work, I kept reducing the number of languages until I was at 1 language, which still didn't want to translate my 85 page pdf. I realized the issue after reading @Timur Born's comment about how it counts translation pages AND source pages to total 99 pages. It was even more alarming to read that it deletes content.

Thanks for clarifying this. I'll share it with the team for further investigations and tests to improve this functionality. Will share the updates here once we have them.
Thank you again for bringing it up, @mesha7
