Newest version of Firefly doesn't allow for mouse/trackball/touchpad pointer-scrolling - as in no scroll bars appear to move view of the list of settings.

Using Google Chrome (ver 123.0.6312.86) on Windows 10 Pro PC.  Never had a problem before, now it's an issue.  It makes it harder to change settings for the AI image output.  I do NOT have a touch-screen.

I'm on a PC with Windows 11 using MS Edge. There's no scroll bar, however positioning the mouse pointer in the menu, for instance "Effects", and using the scrolling wheel on the mouse moves you through all of the choices.

I took a screen recording of the Firefly results - this is what I got...

AdobeFirefly-NoScrollingOnDesktop_600px_animated.gif

I drew in the areas where I would expect scroll bars to pop-up, but nothing (converted video into animated GIF - hope it comes through)

I really do like Firefly, but the latest iteration makes it impossible to use to see all your results, or to change/tweak your results.  The previous version before this had scroll bars for people on desktops using a mouse/trackball pointing device (mine is a Logitech T-BC21 Trackball).

Hi @Jim239090900pzf ,

There are no scrollbars.

@Jill_C is on the money.

Hover inside the dialog and scroll.

When I did the initial testing on Mac on the four main browsers (Edge, Safari, Chrome, Firefox), some allowed just scrolling and some you had to press the mouse button and move the mouse left/right.  If one does not work, try the other.

Jill;

Problem is, I have a LogiTech T-BC21 trackball (which I love very much) and I do not have a scroll wheel.

LogiTec_T-BC21_TrackBall.jpg

Additionally, due to the age of the TrackBall, LogiTech doesn't have the supportive software for me to program the "Up" & "Down" arrow buttons to function like a scroll wheel.  Unless there's a key-combination I can do to mimic the scroll wheel, I am S.O.L.

Of course, MY argument would be is - why did Adobe chage Firefly so that to use it properly, you now need "proprietary" devices such as a touch-screen or a Microsoft (or equivalent) mouse with a scroll wheel in order to use it?  With all the coding wizards at Adobe, is it that difficult to program in scroll bars, so that one with a basic mouse-and-pointer can click & grab to move through the dialog boxes that go off-screen?

I have a basic Logitech mouse, nothing proprietary or fancy, and it works fine. Though, I understand your point about altering the UI to remove such a basic feature...

I did try to click on the white space of the left-hand dialog box of adjustments, but it didn't work.  I also tried hovering and clicking on the edges in case it was one of those "hidden" scroll bars that you would need to hover over to make it show - no luck.  Without a browser scrollbar available, I cannot move to scroll down to the other options in the list.  And I have as yet, not discovered a keyboard-and-mouse-button combo with my Logitech trackball to make the trackball behave like a scroll wheel.

@Jim239090900pzf: Thanks for your response. I had not considered the devices that did not have that scrolling capability.  Are you using a Mac or Windows?  My tests on a Mac revealed different behaviour in different browsers:

  • Safari: Pressing one of the four thumbnails does not do anything. When scrolling the left command bar does not move. Scrolling with the mouse works only if you press the left mouse button while scrolling.
  • Firefox: Pressing one of the four thumbnails moves the larger images to that image. Once you scroll to the right, it seems you cannot scroll back (well, not consistent; sometimes this happens and sometimes not). When scrolling, the left command bar scrolls off the screen. Scrolling with the mouse works only if you press the left mouse button while scrolling.
  • Chrome: Pressing one of the four thumbnails moves the larger images to that image. When scrolling the left command bar does not move. Scrolling with the mouse works; you do not have to press the mouse button to scroll on Chrome.
  • Microsoft Edge: Point and mouse move does not work. You can only switch images by clicking on a thumbnail. When selecting different thumbnails, the left command bar does not move.

So, Safari and Firefox you can scroll by pressing the left mouse button in the generated image area and moving the mouse left/right.  That is worth a try to see if that works in those browsers.  I have not done this testing on Windows.

LATEST

DroopyDog;

I installed a new copy of Mozilla Firefox and logged into Adobe Firefly with my Adobe account.  The results gave me a scrollbar in Firefox for the settings showed up, but not to scroll the images - you have to click on the 4x thumbnails that appear below to go back-and-forth through the images.

It's not like Adobe to have such erratic differences of their browser-based apps depending on the browser and what O/S you're using.  They've been consistent up til now.  I wonder what happened when they were coding the latest iteration of Firefly??
