Hello Everyone,
Maybe you can help me here with an odd issue with web based fonts , from 2 different host and the Chrome browser, on windows 11, pc, etc.
Fire Fox Browser - I have seen this behavior but it corrects itself on the Adobe typekit font, and google never had a isssue on firefox browser.
Chrome Browser - The google hosted web font works great. The Adobe hosted font has a weird issue with spacing, and this is the same visual in firefox before firefox fixes it.
Here are 2 of the same websites i use hosted fonts on, one is year 2023 and GOOGLE hosted font oswald and the other is 2024 ADOBE hosted oswald, and you can see the Google 2023 looks fine in Chrome and the 2024 looks terrible.

2024

Now i assume everyone will see what i am seeing but if not i am including a screen shot of each site in Chrome to further explain.
Also i do NOT have the Oswald font installed on my PC as i know that can lead to viewing issues where it looks great for me but others browsers with no font installed locally it can look missed up.
Here is another test site URL

View it in CHROME and then in FIREFOX and see the differences and where by the screen shots attached.
Thank you to everyone for taking a look.

Hi @umaynome,
Apologies for the delay. Our product team has been working on this. Please create a new web project using the Oswald font, add it to your site, and let us know if you’re still experiencing any issues with the Adobe fonts.
Regards,
Tarun

Hello, thank you for working on this indeed. However doing as you requested you can see it still is behaving the same way in CHROME and EDGE. from the above photos.
FIREFOX is ok it seems.
I have a new typekit css and i have a dedicated site you can always test if you can edit my typekit and keep URL the same or send me URL and i will add it so you can test without me etc.

Hey Guys... I am going to switch back to Google Oswald webfonts, i cant wait any longer with no feedback unfortunately and i really hope you figure it out as Adobe Oswald is superior for some reason when you view it vs Googles font. Thank you for trying.

Hi
@umaynome
We're sorry for the delay. I'd like to inform you that the spacing difference in Firefox compared to other browsers is due to a known bug, which we’re actively working on fixing. The issue is related to certain font values, and since it affects multiple font families, it’s taking some time to resolve. Once the fix is in place, Firefox should align with other browsers.
However, even after the fix, you may still notice some spacing differences between Google-hosted and Adobe-hosted fonts. This is because Adobe uses its own web font processing, which ensures consistency across browsers but may not perfectly match Google Fonts. If you choose to use Adobe’s font hosting, you may need to adjust your website’s CSS for your preferred spacing. Alternatively, you can continue using Google Fonts to maintain your current layout.

Tarun

Hey @Tarun Saini Thank you for the reply, yes i want to use adobe over google and understand the delay better now as how its affecting more fonts then Oswald. I would be interesting in any CSS to adjust my font by adobe if there is something forth coming from adobe here, a univeral css fix if you will. Can you post here the results when fixed or is there another URL i can follow for updates sir?
Thank you
U

Hi
@umaynome,
Thanks for your patience! I understand your preference for Adobe over Google and your interest in a universal CSS fix. Also, once it is resolved. I will keep you posted here.

Hi @Tarun Saini I was checking back in after some time and see no movement, this is likely a more significant issue then initially thought? Has any progress been made on it?

Hi @umaynome,
Thank you for your patience! We've just completed the work on this. Since it involved evaluating changes across the entire font library, it took some time to ensure everything was handled properly.
Our product team ran a quick cross-browser test of Oswald on Windows 11 in Edge and Chrome, and the metrics are now consistent.
You can update to the new version by following these steps:
https://helpx.adobe.com/fonts/using/update-font-version.html
Let me know if you need any further assistance!

Hi @Tarun Saini WOW this is outstanding my friend!! I have tested the fonts and i can confirm so far we are great in CHROME, EDGE, FIREFOX as all browsers show the font the same and that is perfectly done! Adobe typekit is superior to google on the Oswald font, not sure maybe all fonts are superior to google but the Oswald font is crisp, clean and looks non blurry compared to google oswald. I appreciate all your hard work here and would love to thank all invovled if there is a way or page to do so sir.
Again thank you Tarun
