Degular Variable symbol characters not showing proper weight.

Hi there, 

 

I have Degular Variable on a website I am developing and have the variable settings for weight set to 800. This shows fine with normal text, but when I use the ↑ symbol it doesn't show this at 800. Is there a solution to this?
