Am so confused about fonts and if they work in PDF sent to Printer.

Am creating document using Source Serif and Myriad both appear to be OpenType and Variable.

Need to be absolutely certain they will work both in print and online.

Any help would be appreciated.

Variable fonts are still not supported in PDF. Depending on the application used to generate the PDF the live variable type objects will be converted to outlines or any embedded fonts will be converted to static instances. Adobe Illustrator tends to generate static instances of variable fonts when embedding them in a PDF.

Most web browsers in their current versions can support variable fonts.
