I am finding more and more that fonts are becoming inactive when I reboot my Mac Studio.
These are ones installed for use in installed apps - Mac Mail is a prime example, Century Gothic Pro reverts to a generic Times type font. It has got to the stage that I am getting annoyed.
The only way to fix it twemporarily is to Launch Creative Cloud anfd then quit it.
I used to have more fonts but this changed when Type 1 etc went through the mill, 60% of my fonts down the gurgler. So many Illustrator files made redundant.
MacOS Sequoia 15.2
Anyone got a fix/

Are the missing typefaces:
Type 1 fonts were released 41 years ago in 1984 and no longer work today. Details here:

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/
p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

Does your computer have any third party font management software installed? Some of those can create strange issues, such as some typefaces getting changed to a default font in certain applications. The computer's font data cache is another culprit. If the font data cache file gets corrupted it can cause similar issue. I've seen a few posts in this forum lately from people encountering that problem. If they delete the font data cache file and force the computer to re-build the file the problem often fixes itself.

No 3rd party font management, ever. Deleted the font cache yesterday, seemed Ok. Rebooted this morning, same again.
Launched Creative Cloud, quitted Creative Cloud, all good again.
It feels like Creative Cloud is lonely and wants to be started up to show how indespensible it is - NOT. This has really made me see red.

Are other typefaces activated from Adobe Fonts behaving the same way as Century Gothic Pro? Or is it just that one type family? I can't replicate the same problem since my computers are running Windows. Still, I do see other type-related bugs on this platform, some of which have existed for years and remain a problem.

No idea about windows. Its happening with Mail, the only reason I notice is when I view the emails the font has changed. Doesn't appear to be happening with adobe apps, Illustrator, Photoshop etc

HI Tarun, thanks for your help. Did exactly as you suggested and all appears fine. There were 2 suspects after the validation - I deleted the 2 fonts I decided to use Century Gothic which is a paid font that I have and not to use the Century Gothic Pro. If the problem comes up again I'll loet you know.
Thanks again
Ron
