Hallo!

Open Sans is an open source typeface. The Google Fonts web site is probably the best place to download a copy of the Open Sans type family. If there have been any recent updates to the type family it's likely the updated fonts would appear at the Google Fonts web site before anywhere else.

Hi @Christian27200516osxt ,

The font licensing isn't compatible with the InDesign Server. You will need to purchase the appropriate font license for any fonts you want to use in the InDesign Server from the font foundry directly or the authorized reseller.

Please let me know if you have nay further questions.

Thanks,

Neelam

Hi Neelam!

Thank you very much for the feedback. The only question is where exactly do I get the font that is delivered via Adobe Cloud. If I download the font "Open Sans" directly from the manufacturer Google, it does not run 100% the same as the font offered through Adobe. I also can't find an authorized reseller anywhere that offers this exact Open Sans (as offered by Adobe). Shouldn't the font actually behave the same. The running width of the "italic" cuts are not the same. No matter if via "Automatic Activation (Adobe)" or downloaded font package from Google site "https://fonts.google.com/specimen/Open+Sans"?

Best regards
Christian

I think the version of Open Sans available at the Google Fonts site may be newer than the version available via Adobe Fonts. The version at Google Fonts has more styles: 36 static fonts and 2 variable fonts. The Font Squirrel website currently offers an old version of Open Sans with 10 font files.

The text style authorizing isn't viable with the InDesign Server, You should buy the fitting text style permit for any text styles you need to use in the InDesign Server from the text style foundry straightforwardly or the approved affiliate.
