Do you have the Creative Cloud app for iOS installed on your iPad? If the CC app is installed and logged into your free account you should have access to a limited number of fonts from the Adobe Fonts service.

I forgot Adobe removed the iPad app. It's still possible to add Adobe fonts from within iPad apps like Illustrator. Also if you visit the Adobe Fonts web site you should be able to log into your account there and add fonts. This can be done directly with the iPad or even another computer. Once the fonts are added they should be visible within Adobe apps on the iPad.

Go to the Adobe Fonts website: https://fonts.adobe.com/
In the upper right corner of the home page there is an account icon. Click on that to sign into your account. Once you are signed in you should be able to browse the fonts that are available in your Creative Cloud plan. The type families have a button on them saying "add family."
