Adobe Learning Manager (ALM) Questions

Hi Everyone, and thanks in advance.

I am currently with another e-learning platform and would like to move to Adobe Captivate/ALM as I love my Adobe products.  I have a few questions to see if ALM can natively handle the needs or if it can be customized to meet them.  The following is what I need for ease of use for myself and my clients.

  1. Is there the ability to have learners self-register through a link shared by a client for their employees?

  2. Can the platform be integrated to process payments for either a batch of X number of seats or one-offs with Stripe or other eCommerce tools?

  3. Can we manage learners, instructors, and admins with varying access levels or set up different login levels for access? I.e., A) an Admin/System Owner user who can do anything, B) a company admin for each client who can either register their staff or send a self-registration link and see completion reports, outstanding, time taken, etc. for their staff, not all users, and C) Learners who can self-register and log in to complete the course.

  4. Can we separate, segment, and personalize groups and manage various enterprise customers from one instance? For example, if a client wants to purchase 100 licenses to access a module, is there a way to restrict the number purchased so they cannot exceed the limit?

  5. Can the system be personalized for each client? (white labelled)

My apologies for all the questions. I'm just hoping Adobe can be the software we move to.

Thanks again.

Thanks for being a part of this community @Janice27927268d6c9 ! I can share answers for you.

Is there the ability to have learners self-register through a link shared by a client for their employees? Yes. Self-registration is available for this use case.

Can the platform be integrated to process payments for either a batch of X number of seats or one-offs with Stripe or other eCommerce tools? There are eCommerce functioanlities in ALM, like Adobe Commerce. Integrations are also available.

Yes, yes, and YES. Custom roles can be set to your liking.

Can we separate, segment, and personalize groups and manage various enterprise customers from one instance? For example, if a client wants to purchase 100 licenses to access a module, is there a way to restrict the number purchased so they cannot exceed the limit? Check with support on this.

Can the system be personalized for each client? (white labelled). Yes, customizing is available for different user audiences in ALM. Plus, you could always use ALM in a headless capacity for even more customization.

Did you know there is a free 30-day trial for ALM? Go see if this is the right LMS for you! https://business.adobe.com/products/learning-manager/adobe-learning-manager.html

Hi Janice,

The answer to all of these questions is 'Yes'.

Here are some expanded answers, and you can reach out to me at my email address for more.

  1. Is there the ability to have learners self-register through a link shared by a client for their employees?
Yes, and the registrations can be limited to a specific domain and self-registration answers can include short answer as well as drop down fields.
  2. Can the platform be integrated to process payments for either a batch of X number of seats or one-offs with Stripe or other eCommerce tools?
Yes, Use the Adobe Commerce connector to connect your Adobe Learning Manager account with Adobe Commerce and realize ecommerce capabilities on the learning platform. Adobe Commerce is an extensible and scalable commerce enablement solution that enables you to build multi-channel commerce experiences for B2B and B2C customers on a single platform.

Yes. Adobe Learning Manager allows every user to be assigned specific roles including Learner, Author, Instructor, Manager, Integration Admin and Admin as well as Custom Roles (limited Admins with specific privileges for specific groups of users). Learners can be registered via several methods including but not limited to 'self-registration'.

  4. Can we separate, segment, and personalize groups and manage various enterprise customers from one instance? For example, if a client wants to purchase 100 licenses to access a module, is there a way to restrict the number purchased so they cannot exceed the limit?
Yes. When allowing a client organization to assign 'External Learners' the number of learners and the term of access are both restrictions set for the external managers. Another restriction is the specific catalog of courses the external manager can assign to external learners.

  5. Can the system be personalized for each client? (white labelled)
Yes. Multi-branding can be established for internal users (with brand experience based on a selected active field such as 'client').

Again, if you have more questions, feel free to reach out to me directly.

Thank you for the feedback.  I need to clarify a couple of Captivate items, but it looks like ALM will meet our needs. I will reach out if anything else comes to mind.

From what I know, ALM does support self-registration for learners, payment integration with tools like Stripe, and varying access levels for different user roles. You can also manage multiple clients and personalize the experience, which is similar to how businesses manage custom solutions for UPVC Windows GlasgowI hope this helps, and I’m excited to see how your transition goes!
