What is the official difference between completion criteria and success criteria in the context of the module library within Prime?
Hi Peter,
Please see the below description about Completion status Vs Success status in Captivate Prime and other LMS as well-
In Scorm 1.2, there was only one course status statement with possible values of "Completed", "Incomplete", "Passed" and "Failed". So with a single value, it was difficult to accurately determine how the learner actually performed in the course.
The above problem has been corrected in Scorm 2004 where the single status has been replaced by two- Completion Status and Success

In Scorm 1.2, there was only one course status statement with possible values of "Completed", "Incomplete", "Passed" and "Failed". So with a single value, it was difficult to accurately determine how the learner actually performed in the course.
The above problem has been corrected in Scorm 2004 where the single status has been replaced by two- Completion Status and Success Status. Completion status mainly indicates the completion of the course like "Completed", "Incomplete" etc. while Success status mainly indicates the Learner performance as "Passed" or "Failed". We could now differentiate between all possible scenarios.

Hi Peter,
Just wanted to add, let's assume you have uploaded a Module in Captivate Prime which has a quiz in it. Now, you have set the Completion Criteria for that Module is "On Launching content" and Success Criteria will be "Quiz Passed".
Now, If the Learner launched the course and failed the quiz then the Course will be marked as Completed, however the Success Criteria will only be met when the Learner passed the quiz. Please see the below screenshot where you can see the Success criteria has not been met and that is the reason you will see the "Sync" icon over the course-
Hope it will be helpful for you.
Regards,
Ajit

Trying to cover all the options regardless is I were using SCORM 1.2 or SCORM 2004.
