In any organization, it is necessary to update training materials regularly and keep them relevant for the learners. An author can re-evaluate, revamp, and update courses periodically that are already published in Captivate Prime.
To update a module, follow the steps below:
- Log in as an Author and open the Content Library.

- Select the module that you want to update.

- To modify the content of the module, on the upper-right corner of the screen, click Edit.
Note:You must make changes by uploading the same type of content that was originally used to create the module. For example, if the module was created using non-interactive content like MP4, PDF, or PPT, you must update the module using similar type of content only. You cannot upload an Interactive content in a Non Interactive module and vice-versa.
- After uploading the new content, click Save.

- After you click Save, the new content is available in the library.
- Once the updated content is uploaded, the version of the module increments by one (If there is no change in the version, it means that the update of the module was unsuccessful).

- Once the module has been successfully updated, you will see an Upload Icon next to the tags. Click on the icon to update the new content in all the courses.

- The setting to make the changes applicable to all learners or only to new enrolments need to be defined under settings prior to updating the module. Log in as Administrator, click Settings, and click General. Navigate to the option Module Version Update and click Edit.

- Choose either Apply content update to all learners or Apply content to learners yet to start. If you select the latter, you can also check the box that enables ‘In-progress’ learners to receive updated content after completion.

If you enable the check-box to enable in-progress enrolments to receive updated content after completion, they receive a notification that content has been updated. They can revisit to view new content. However, this will not affect the completion status of the module.
Note: If you apply the content update to All learners, then, in case if there is a quiz score in the course, then the quiz score will be reset for the learner once the learner revisits the course. However, the completion status of the course will remain completed.
You can now successfully update a module in a course.
