All contents of the Content Library in Captivate Prime are always visible to all authors, including custom authors. With this release, Administrator can configure private content folders and provide its access to specific custom-authors using Custom Roles. Thus, an Administrator can control the visibility of the content in the Content Library to specific authors as needed.
Administrator workflow
Content Folders can be configured by Administrators. Only once configured, content folders become visible to authors and they get an ability to place the content in one or multiple folders.
For more information, see Administrator creates content folder.
Author workflow
After an Administrator creates the content folders, you, an author, can upload a content to a content folder, so that the content is only visible to you or a select group of authors in the account. You can also make the content public and make it visible to all authors in the account.
For more information, see Author adds content to folder.
Custom Author
Captivate Prime already supports an ability to give access to content Library using custom roles. All custom authors who already have access to the content library, will continue to have access to all content files even after content folders are configured. This is to maintain the legacy behavior. Administrators need not make any changes in case they wish to continue to current behavior.
In case they wish to restrict access to these custom authors, Administrators need to edit the existing custom role and configure them by providing access to only specific content folders.
For more information, see Restrict folder access for custom authors.
