Submit Documents to Captivate Prime

New Here ,
Dec 19, 2017 Dec 19, 2017

Scenario:

We have a Project that we want the students to complete. This project involves the students downloading and editing a document/presentation then submitting it back to Captivate Prime for the teachers to review and mark.

1 - Is there a way for the students to submit these documents back into Captivate Prime for the teachers to mark.

2 - Are the students able to edit the document/presentation within Captivate Prime.

Thanks

Robert

Robert,

  1. This is possible, though the set up is not terribly intuitive.
    • You'll need to create a Classroom Module within a Course.
    • Fill in the details for this as needed. Assign the desired instructor to that Classroom Module.
    • Have the Instructor login to Prime and find the Classroom.
    • Once they have selected the Classroom, they should click on the Edit button at the top right of the page.
    • Next to the Allow Submissions option, select Yes.
    • Click Save.
    • If you want to provide the document to the students, then the instructor should go to the Resources section of the Classroom and add the documents there.
    • Once Enrolled the student can then navigate to the Course and download the documents through the Resources section on the right of the Course.
    • The Classroom will show an Upload File option where the students can upload their assignments for the instructor.
    • The Instructor can then view the uploaded documents in the Submissions section of their view of the Classroom.
  2. Editing documents in Captivate prime is not possible at this time.

How do you allow learners to submit a file before the start of an in-person session?Through my testing, I'm only seeing the upload file feature on the day of the classroom session. What if submitting an assignment was part of pre-work? Doesn't make sense you could only upload the file day of classroom session.

In the course, where you have a classroom module; you could consider adding a "Submission based Activity Module" before the classroom module.

Thank you! I was adding a submission based activity module in my testing and it wasn't showing the upload file feature.

However, I was eventually able to get it to work. I find that sometimes when testing things over and over the system bugs out. Once I created a new course (rather than continually editing the one I was testing) I saw the upload file feature.

How did you get the activity submission to function? I can't seem to quite get there?

A learner must be enrolled in the course before they can submit a file in an Activity Module in the course.
