Can someone with a Mac M1 Max complete a successful AME render with the "Play chime when finished encoding" option checked and tell me what chime you hear?
I contacted Adobe Help through the chat box on the Adobe site. The issue I called about was that AME plays the sheep sound whether the render is successful or not. He/she told me that the sheep sound was the correct sound for a successful render, then turned off the chime option and told me he fixed the problem. What kind of help is this? I've used AME for years and I know a successful render ends with a musical chime and an unsuccessful render ends with that annoying sheep noise. Has this changed?

Update to 22.1.1.
It's fixed in that version.

Nope. I updated that before I contacted Adobe for help. I'm running the latest version of everything including v25.1.1 (build 25) of AME. I was hoping after the update the issue would be gone, when it persisted after the update, I contacted Adobe for help. The Adobe help person told me it's working as it should. The Sheep noise is correct. I think you are confirming that I was given false information. Thanks for the response.

Hi there,
We appreciate you writing in. Adobe Media Encoder gives us an option to enable/disable a chime sound on successful completion of render under Preferences > General. Did you check that?

Adobe Media Encoder gives us an option to enable/disable a chime sound
By @Shivangi_Gupta
The OP wants the correct sound to play, not to disable the sound. The sheep sound is the sound intended for a failed export.

This was the same reply they gave on my thread as well. This is not really a helpful answer. Adobe knows something is wrong with it's coding, and rather than find the fix they are saying "just shut it off". How very Adobe of them.

jesmo71,
In your thread, you indicate that you've updated to 22.1.1, and the problem is still there. Others say it is fixed in AME 22.1.1.
I just tested. I created a new project/composition in AE 22.1.1. I queued to AME 22.1.1. I exported there, and I get the "good" chime.
Is that the same process you are using to get the problem?

No, Updating to 22.1.1 seems to have fixed the problem for me, but people are still posting on my thread that once they updated to 22.1.1 they are still having the problem. So, it doesn't appear to be a universal fix.

Thanks. Luminar, Is the method I described what you are doing to get the error? (I created a new project/composition in AE 22.1.1. I queued to AME 22.1.1. I exported there, and I get the "good" chime.)

I'm using Premiere Pro v22.1.2 as the source, but yes, exporting through AME 22.1.1 gives me the sheep after a successful render. Same as it did prior to updating AME and Premiere Pro.

Yes, but that doesn't fix the problem, it just turns it off and I get no chime at all. I like the chime. I hate the sheep sound. The last thing one wants to hear when things are going wrong and you're frustrated, is that annoying sheep sound. It's like rubbing salt into a wound. But that's a complaint for another day.

See if resetting the preferences helps:

Peru Bob,
Deleting preference files did not fix. Thanks.

Same problem here - sheep sound on successful render, not chime. Updated to AME 22.1.1

I was getting this problem, and so annoying.
Using AME v 22.1.1.
Today I tried:
Now it works!
Plays the chime, not the sheep.. Whew.
