I use Premiere Pro to produce a video from a musical. I use a set of six cameras and a Zoom H6 to record audio. As the audio I get from the mixer board is dry, I add reverb to it. As the musical includes a number of stage changes, there are many cuts in my production. It seems, that for each time I cut the audio, Media Encoder needs to make a separate run of the audio when it compiles the final video. I have about 30 cuts to my audio now, and as I use two channesls, Media Encoder now goes through the audio 60 times. The final video is a little more than 1 hour. Compiling the audio takes 3 hours, compiling the video takes 30 minutes. I use an AMD Ryzen 9 5900x and an RTX 3080 graphics card, so there should be no shortage of processing power.
