When I convert a Prores 422HQ file with color points set to 1-2-1, to a MP4 High Bitrate through Media Encoder it always turns the color points to 1-1-1, which makes the file display differently in Quicktime.
I have been using Resolve instead of Media Encoder, as Resolve keeps the 1-2-1 setting.
But I wondered if there was a way to do this in Media Encoder.
thanks

Hi Joost,
Thanks for the reply.
I know Quicktime player seems to be the main issue, but a lot of people/clients still use it.
I just wondered if Media Encoder had the ability to keep the 1-2-1 tag when converting to MP4.
At the moment I output from Flame which has a "ColorSync Compatible" option when exporting Prores.
This tags the quicktime as 1-2-1.
Which means that it plays back in VLC and Quicktime as expected.
When I then convert to MP4 for viewing files which I can send to clients, Media Encoder tags it as 1-1-1, which makes it look differently in VLC and Quicktime (quicktime being the problem).
My work around at the moment is to make MP4's in Resolve to keep the 1-2-1 tag.
I was wondering if there was a way in Media Encoder to keep the 1-2-1 tag also.
Thanks

What I would like is for media encoder to pass through whatever colour profile it is given.
Is that possible?
