Hi,
lately I noticed that the latest version of Media Encoder 24.0.3 build2 for export/rendering use more CPU about 70% and not GPU about 12% (i have 2 Geforce 1080TI in SLI) this is live activity:
Why does this happen even though the 'Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (Cuda)' option is selected on ME? Is this normal or is there something wrong? also because with the same product the rendering times have become longer than before, the video cards are updated (Driver Studio).
Thanks for reply!

Whether GPU or CPU is used is dependent on many factors. Some filters are not optimized for GPU. And the H.264 rendering usually happens on the CPU. We can only tell you more if you show us the project that you are working on. What Format did you render to?

The project (sequence) is a full HD 1920x1080 25fps, the source video clips are 4k 3840x2160 MOV with H264 encoding (exported with Davinci resolve after color correction has taken place). The same outcome occurs whether I export in H264 or in MPEG2 (broadcasting) or Quicktime (apple prores HQ).
If it were the case that Media Encoder and the 2 Geforce 1080TI cards in SLI are not exploited with H264 I wonder, why would one spend so much money and then not be able to fully exploit the features of the software and hardware?
