ProRes export takes forever

I've had this issue for some time - throughout V24 and now V25.

If I export a 30 sec sequence file from Premiere as ProRes, it takes seconds.

If I send the same sequence to Media Encoder, it takes up to 10 minutes to encode as ProRes.

I'm using smart rendering, which as I said works great exporting directly from Premiere.

But in Media Encoder it takes forever.

I've compared my settings in both ME and Premiere and they're identical.

30 second commercial, not a problem exporting from Premiere but I also have 1 hour programs that I would

like to be exporting from ME so I can keep working in Premiere.

Incidentally, both Premiere and ME encode h264 with no problems. It seems to be ProRes in ME that's the issue.

Thoughts?

Is it with "Import sequences natively" turned on or off?

Do you export a PPro sequence or ProRes files individually? I will try to reproduce.

One other thing. I upgraded my computer 1 year ago from an iMac to the Studio M2 Ultra. I can say I was having the same issue before the upgrade which involved a complete factory reset. I didn't transfer any settings from the iMac. I really started from scratch and I'm still having the issue. I'm pretty sure it's something on my end. I'm not seeing the same problem on the Premiere and ME community sites. Also, I'm following the smart rendering guidlines pretty carefully.

Also, there was a period when I tested exporting in PreRes 422 HQ instead of LT and it worked. But that is no longer the case.

Thanks for "bird-dogging" this!
