Hi, all!

In my opinion "shut down when done" is a very simple and useful, why developers still do not realize to add it?

It's bad enough having to sacrifice a chicken waiting for AME to open, why would I want to risk doing it twice if I'm not happy with the result?

How is AME meant to know when you are done, you could set something to render and work on something else (if you have an amazing computer that can somehow render and let you do something else at the same time.)

Hi Ivan:

"Shut down when done" would be good for those times when you're leaving AME encoding on a Thursday or Friday and won't be back until Monday.

Maybe something like Parallels Access or LogMeIn work for your situation?  I used to use LogMeIn, but then the annual pricing was increased significantly so I switched to Parallels Access.  In addition to remotely shutting a workstation down via s smartphone, tablet or computer, you can check on renders and do other tasks as needed from where ever you happen to be.  Of course, it does mean having to check in at some point.

You could also schedule a shut down in the system settings, but you'd have to take you best guess as to when AME would be done.

I've been wanting this feature for YEARS. Frankly, I'm baffled it's not in, already. I remember over twenty years ago (and, no I'm not exaggerating) it's being a standard feature for software that performed tasks that took a long time and we're typically done overnight, such as FTP-programs and CD-ROM burning software. Seriously, what's taking so long to get this feature in? Is it a patent-issue?
