after effects cannot connect to media encoder

i have a finished project in after effects and i am trying to add it to media encoder to render it, but when i click add to ame queue, media encoder opens but the project does not show up in ame. how do i fix this?

It sometimes takes a while.

yes i am leaving it open and waiting for hours but nothing ever happens.

I am also having this problem since just before the latest update. It's infuriating. Things only show up in the queue when I quit and re-opne AME, no matter how long I wait. I am having to do this for every single render right now and it's costing a lot of time.

Went to Preferences> Media > Clean Media Cache Database. It took a few hours but now comps are adding to the queue again.

Yeah, unfortunately it only worked for a couple of hours for me. I still have this problem. Have to send every project to the queue then quit and reopen AME before they show up. It's a huge pain.
