AME - Version 14.8 (Build 31) ->Having issue while exporting video

Hello Team,

After Effects Version 17.6 (Build 46)

AMC Version 14.8 (Build 31)

I am trying to export a video file with few effects but the problem is while exporting the video, the background motion video and effects are not rendering properly as shown below

As shown the video output is not taking the background effects properly.

Video Background - with effects :

So if you see the above SMOKE effect is not rendering in the output file.

Please let me know what is that I am doing wrong.

Hi there,

We appreciate you writing in. Thanks for sharing the screenshot. I understand you are not getting correct preview for the effects once you export from Adobe Media Encoder.

Have you considered exporting directly from After Effects?
What happens when you change the renderer to the GPU or Software only? https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro/faq-how-to-change-the-video-renderer-in-premiere-pro/td-...

Hi Shivagi,

Thanks for responding.

May I know how I can export directly from after effects? I want it in mp4 format.

Also, the link you have provided is more related to Premiere Pro, but still, I had the recommended renderer setting "Mercury Playback Engine GPU Acceleration (Metal) - Recommended". I still see no change in that.

Can you recommend me another alternative / any article on how to achieve it

Hi Shivangi,

For the last 2 days, I also observed that when I'm Encoding a normal file with just a PNG file and minimal animation work in AME it is throwing an Error. And is not even rendering to compose the video. When I select the file and hit the PLAY button to start the encoding it will process for a while (around 2minutes) and then stops and errors out. Below is the error log I received from it. Also attaching the screenshot of the AME. Can you please let me know what is happening? I also tried to uninstall and reinstall the software but nothing seems to resolve this issue.

Thanks for the detailed error log, Sri!

The same article had a screenshot for changing video renderer in AME. 🙂 Sorry for the confusion!

Could you test the issue with Software only settings? It will not use your GPU for encoding. This will tell us if the GPU is at fault.

Let me know the outcome. I'll keep researching.

As suggested selected just the "Software" option but looks like it is not taking any PNG in the background for my video.

Below is the picture of AME.

( I kept a small 30seconds video in AME for rendering but it is taking a very long time to process the video. It's been almost 15mins that I kept but still processed just 9sec of my video. Also, it just has very minimal effects on it). Can you also investigate why is it taking such a long time to process?

I am not sure why it is not taking any pictures when rendering.
