Can't open ME after updating to 15.1

Upgraded CC apps today, no I can't open Media Encoder anymore. It crashes shortly after showing the splash screen.

I tried a number of things I found in older posts, like deleting older versions from Library/Caches, but nothing works. This is a mojor issue as I need to render mp4s for a client.

Any ideas?

Hey this might help:

I went into this fodler and deleted an old plugin that was causing the issue:

/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/

Now have media encoder open & running.

Best,

James

Little update – I downgraded ME to the version before, but that won't open anymore either. Tried completely uninstalling, and re-installing, but that doesn't help either. It just crashes shortly after the splash screen appears. Really worried 😞

All other CC apps seem to open and work just fine. I'm on a 2017 MacBook Pro with 10.15.7.

Having the same issue. Mine crashes as it's scanning plugins on launch. I've uninstalled everything, deleted preferences, still no luck.

Don't have this folder, unfortunately (there's no Plug-in folder in Common).

So sorry, I was in the wrong Library! Found the folder, deleted it, and now it works.

Thank you!

I am experiencing the same issue. The first splash page pops up but, the program never actually loads. It just seems to freeze on that opening graphic. I have to open my task manager and force quit to close. I have restarted my computer, uninstalled and reinstalled the program. Still won’t load / open. I really need to render today. Adobe Help Us.

Yes. Same problem here... updated to ME 15.1 and stopped working.

I'm using a Windows 10 64bit machine.

Really need to solve this. 😞

Took a week but I think I found the solution. The Creative Cloud Cleaner tool seemed to work. Once I ran this ME started opening!

Tried that, but unfortunately for me the issue still remains!

Tried the Cloud Cleaner and it didn't work... I needed to install the previous Media Encoder version to use it. 😞
