Is there really no way to re-install AME 12.0?

Hi,

Amateur Premiere user updated Premiere then discovered newer versions beyond 12.0 were beyond my hardware limitations (graphics card, five year old PC). I'm successfully back to Premiere 12.0 but now I can't create proxies because AME is the wrong version (I need 12, it's 13). I see Adobe doesn't offer old downloads. Any chance someone can't point me to somewhere I can still get AME 12.0 at this late date?

Thank you,

AP

Hi AP,

Thanks for writing in. I understand your point, however, Creative Cloud offers only the latest version and the version before that to be downloaded. The latest version is AME 2020. Hence, you will get an option to install AME 2019. The version 12.0 is CC 2018 version of AME. I'm afraid it is not available to get downloaded/installed anymore.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,

Will AME 12.1.2 work for you? Version 12 is the 2018 version of Media Encoder, which is still available. Similarly, Premiere Pro 2018 is still available. You can open your Creative Cloud app, search for "Media Encoder," and select "Other Versions," and see it available as shown in my screenshot.

...wait, I might be wrong. I just now saw that those say "Uninstall." I'm not sure if that's because I already had them installed or not. What does it look like on your end?
